I am going to make a Commander deck with this card. It has inspired me. The plan is simple. Play no instant and sorcery cards and complain about how unlucky I am getting all game. So no one will attack me then, I will splinter twin combo to win.

A little more on the gruesome side, but I’m REALLY proud of how this one came out. I incorporated a lot of techniques that I haven’t really used on the same model at once before, and I really think it paid off here. Really proud of the texture and shading I got on the cape.

Lorwyn is almost perfect, I’m so so excited with how the set came out! The only thing missing was a Merrow Commander (black/blue Merfolk), and a Cinder Commander (black/red Elementals). Other than that, perfect! 9.5/10!

I think one of the biggest failings of modern media is an inability to take the material seriously. Always rushing to reduce everything down to a cheap joke / meme. Dark Ritual is a one of the original Magic: the Gathering cards, a powerful spell which has seen play in almost every format. It's a card which has always been an iconic representation of black magic, typically depicting dark mages conjuring up unholy demonic powers. But now, it's also that card where Master Splinter makes a gross pizza. The legacy of the card has been reduced to a stupid joke. Rather than pay respect to the card's 20+ years as a beloved piece of black's color pie, we have another throwaway meme card. This isn't a simple knock on Universes Beyond. You could have easily found a piece of TMNT art that fits an iconic card like Dark Ritual. Perhaps Shredder or Splinter conjuring up some anicent ninjitsu magic? But no, you went with a stupid joke about pizza. Point is, if you don't treat your IP seriously, don't be surprised when players no longer feel invested in it. Not everybody wants to play Fortnite.
