Today is Memorial Day in America – a day of national respect for each and every person who defended America and freedom in uniform. Without the United States, there simply would have been no European freedom – and the 20th century proved this absolutely clearly. Now Russia’s full-scale war is not only against Ukraine, but also against the very format of such a Europe – a free, democratic, united Europe. It is Euro-Atlantic unity that has been, and remains, the foundation of the world’s economic and, in many respects, social development after World War II. Ukraine is grateful to the United States for supporting our defense and to all compassionate American hearts that continue to support Ukraine. This war must be ended – and ended in a dignified way. And America’s role in this – America, which Russia fears – truly can be one of leadership: in supporting our defense of life here and our ability, later on, to help defend life for other nations, those who truly need it. Thank you, America!

The missile attacked that and several, buildings. So we are really thankful to our heroic savers and to our people. Yes, DSNS, huh? Yeah. And to policemen. So they help. Rescuers. To rescuers and et cetera, yes. And also they attacked hospitals and attacked kindergartens and schools. So what do we have to do to… JOURNALIST: Russia said it was a retaliation from the previous attacks. ZELENSKYY: They always say that. And it's not true. They understand that we always respond. They began this war, so it's not the question who is the first or who is the second. They began this war. And the most important thing, when we see that when we respond, we target their military goals. When they do attacks, they kill civilians. We’re not at the front line.

This coffee shop in Kyiv opened yesterday, then got hit by a russian air strike just hours later. Today, they're still open and people in Kyiv are lining up to buy a coffee to support them, stepping over debris and broken glass on the way in. FYI, the coffee is excellent 🇺🇦

There is now a long line of people waiting patiently to buy coffee from Yevhen and Olena’s cafe, which opened yesterday and was heavily damaged in last night’s attack on Kyiv.
