@gilmour70 Side-note: We also have it logged in our feature tracking system to look into making guide types customizable.

@gilmour70 Springshare here! You can customize the labels of your types by going to Admin > Look & Feel > Language Customizations > Global. Be advised, some types have built-in functionality (i.e. Internal types, even published, won't appear on the public-side).
