Yep, and that's exactly the disconnect. The NFTs on Flow — NBA Top Shot, NFL All Day, Disney Pinnacle — have a combined market cap based on floor prices that's roughly 2x the token's market cap. FLOW is at $0.039 right now because of the Dec hack and the confidence hit that followed. The assets sitting on the chain didn't lose their value the same way the token did. Make of that what you will.

2 days ago Flow Foundation committed to removing 100M+ FLOW from circulation. 50M already burned (3% of total supply). 50M+ more being acquired from open market through 2026. The hack that caused this? Zero user funds lost onchain. Every legitimate balance was untouched. $120M+ in NFT market cap. Disney, NBA, NFL still shipping. Deflationary at scale. This is a $0.039 token. The risk/reward here is wild.

Great question! FLOW is the native token of the Flow blockchain, so it's needed for a few things: Every transaction on the network pays fees in FLOW, and since the Forte upgrade in Oct '25 those fees get burned. At sustained 250 TPS the network becomes net deflationary — more tokens burned than created. Below that it still significantly reduces inflation. You also need FLOW to run validator nodes and secure the network, so there's constant demand just to keep the chain operational. Stakers earn ~9% APY for that. Right now Disney, NBA, and NFL apps are all transacting on Flow — gas is subsidized by Dapper but the burn mechanism still applies to every transaction. The next big piece is @peakmoney_ which is Dapper's consumer DeFi app launching on Flow. It's built on top of Flow Credit Markets — an automated lending protocol where you can deposit and earn yield, with auto-compounding and auto-rebalancing so you never get liquidated. So value accrues to FLOW through fee burns, staking demand, and now a DeFi layer designed to drive real usage on the network.

The math checks out — total supply is ~1.64B, 50M / 1.64B ≈ 3%. And I get it, $40 to $0.039 is brutal. But the Foundation just spent real money buying 50M tokens off the open market and burning them — and committed to buying 50M+ more. That's not what a dead project does. The Dec exploit didn't take any user funds onchain. The price drop was confidence-driven, not a loss of assets. Disney, NBA, NFL are all still building on it. Not saying the pain isn't real. But the response has been legit.

@Libruary Since when 50M is 3% of 1.6B 🤦‍♂️ they are dead ! I bought my first Flow for $40 😂 the journey from that all the way to 0.03 feels like rug pull or being a sponsor with zero to get back
