@greateranglia Hi, the barriers at Sawbridgeworth station do not appear to be working. Who should this be raised with? They have been down for at least 20 minutes now.

@drlouisenewson This makes complete sense to me. Fatigue, hair loss and other symptoms for past 2 months which ties in with getting the new shaped bottle 10 weeks ago. I told my GP so upped my dose 20% and sent me for blood test for thyroid! Reported to yellow card.

In recent days I have been approached by a number of women who use Oestrogel who say they have experienced a return of menopause symptoms, after a different bottle design has become available in the UK over the last year. A cylindrical Oestrogel bottle with a white lid (previously used up to 2019) is being dispensed alongside the existing conical bottle design, which has a blue lid. Some women have said the cylincrical shape bottle provides a smaller quantity each pump. Oestrogel manufacturer Besins have stressed to me both bottles deliver the same quantity and quality of estradiol. If however you believe your Oestrogel pump pack is not functioning correctly, Besins requests you send a product quality complaint to complaints@besins-healthcare.com. If you are experiencing a recurrence of symptoms, you should discuss this with your prescribing clinician and you can report any concerns to the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency’s Yellow Card Scheme at: mhra.gov.uk/yellowcard or via the MHRA Yellow Card app. You can also email pharmacovigilance@besins-healthcare.com. If you ever have any concerns about the effectiveness of any form of HRT, my key advice is that you contact your healthcare professional, and continue taking your usual prescription.

@drlouisenewson Many symptoms returned over past 6 weeks and now this makes sense. I thought the amount dispensed was smaller. Will add an extra dose.

This is really important. By measuring the doses of Oestrogel from both the new and the old shape bottle, Alice has noticed the new bottle isn’t giving a consistent dose and it’s actually much lower than it should be. This has resulted in women seeing a return in their symptoms.

Over 9 in 10 adults in England have COVID antibodies. Probably more than estimated as the ONS data is a few weeks old. That is a remarkable amount of immunity in the population, even more in vulnerable groups. It's great news.
