Gedmatch HW, Maratha Bhonsle/Scindhia from Maharashtra and Patidar ( Patel) Gujarat, on a perfect model on other tools they would be 45+ SAHG. Interestingly, both are close enough probably might have some distant link. Marathas also use Patil last name similar to Patel.

@Light3675 @Gs_shekhawatt It works good in modern European pop, they don't need AASI but for South Asian most Pvt models are crap. Guys do manually calculation from an output.

@Light3675 @Gs_shekhawatt It is reliable because there are no SAHG samples you can use on qpadm. South Asians are difficult to model on qpadm without proper SAHG sample, even IVC core samples are not there. Qpadm wins when you have more ancient samples.

@Light3675 @Gs_shekhawatt You in fact don't know that G25 aasi sims are based on qpadm runs. Since, you don't have AASI sample, you cannot do anything on qpadm Don't explain me, how people calculate numbers on qpadm in case SA population? It is pure Kirana based model without taking SE into acct.

@Light3675 @ape1234566 @Gs_shekhawatt There are no SAHG sample you can use on qpadm. So, I don't know what are you writing here. Qpadm works better when you have ancient samples available. And for your information G25 aasi sims are based on qpadm runs by DMXX and Matt of Eurogenes.

@TianyuanMan @Light3675 @Gs_shekhawatt Now Kanet is another broad term, there were Khas Rs ( like khoonds) in them, but also Kinnaura Kanet, Wazza Kanet, then Hatti tribe etc all diff. Khas Rs like Khoonds were Upper area Rs type though not same to Rs like ( Raja/Mian) etc. In census they were counted under Kanet.

@ape1234566 @Gs_shekhawatt It can be like this too, what above is being said. Like Chhetris being NW Kshatriya moving earlier took up EA. Because their shell is west shifted. Whereas UKD R have something to do with certain areas in larger Gangetic plains, Yes, very true same for Brahmins in both areas.

@lifeisPandC @Gs_shekhawatt Not just the Kshatriyas but Bahuns are also less AASI shifted than Garhwali Brahmins. My guess is that Uttarakhandis mixed with some group that had a mix of Tibeto-Burman & AASI genes whereas Nepali Khas mixed with pure Tibetans

Karnataka Brahmin says 1/2 Hoysala 1/2 Madhwa He is 50.68 SI, in any decent runs on other tools he would be close to 45 AASI, Brahmin caste circle handles made it 40 AASI. So, numbers deflate for only Brahmins. 🤣
