@HonMushimba Tell the council to take down that bill board encroaching the side walk. That's a serious hazard risk. It's also restricting the capacity of the drain. Let's start with fixing the small things first.

Florida Grandma Drove the Same Car for 53 Years, Then the Odometer Hit 567,000 Miles Rachel Veitch’s life story can not be told without mentioning her car. For more than five decades, the Orlando grandmother shared her life with a single vehicle: a 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente she lovingly named “La Chariot.” By the time she finally stopped driving, the odometer read an astonishing 567,000 miles more than the distance from Earth to the moon and back. Veitch bought the car new in February 1964 from a dealership in Sanford, Florida, paying $3,289. At the time, gasoline cost 39 cents a gallon, Lyndon B. Johnson was president, and “The Little Old Lady from Pasadena” played on the radio. She was a young nurse, a mother of four, and had no idea that the car would outlast nearly everything else in her life. Over the years, La Chariot survived three marriages, eight mufflers, at least 17 batteries, multiple sets of shocks, and countless oil changes. Veitch often joked that the car had proven far more dependable than her husband's. “My Chariot has never lied to me or cheated on me,” she once said. “I can always depend on her.” After divorcing her third husband in 1975, he took their 1972 Pontiac. Veitch kept the Mercury. “I’ll bet he’s traded cars half a dozen times by now,” she added, “and I still have my Chariot, my faithful pal.” The Mercury wasn’t pampered as a museum piece. It was driven constantly. Despite its “lousy” 15 miles per gallon, automatic transmission, and frosty air conditioning, the car carried Veitch across the country, including a long road trip to Pennsylvania in 2007 for her 70th high school reunion. It also appeared at numerous car shows and became a familiar sight among antique car clubs. In 2002, the car underwent a renovation shortly after Veitch received a speeding ticket for driving 92 mph in a 55-mph zone. Her secret to longevity was simple and obsessive care. Veitch meticulously logged every fill-up, recording mileage, dates, and fuel economy. “I’ve never been a destructive person,” she said. “I’ve taken care of everything except my husband.” So closely was she associated with La Chariot that friends and neighbours eventually grew tired of hearing the story. “People don’t want to talk to me anymore,” Veitch joked. “They’re tired of hearing about my Chariot.” Veitch remained active in the National Association of Antique Automobile Clubs and proudly represented her Mercury Comet Caliente wherever she went. Eventually, age-related issues forced her to stop driving. And finally, Rachel Veitch herself reached the end of the road. She passed away on May 11, 2017, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 98. A widely shared video of her and La Chariot was recorded a few years earlier, when the odometer read “only” 540,000 miles. For Rachel Veitch, the car was never just transportation. It was a witness to a lifetime, a constant companion that stayed faithful long after everything else had changed.

One year on today and former President Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu is still frozen in the mortuary. What kind of a country have we become? We again urge @HHichilema & his govt to drop the court cases in South Africa and allow the family to bury Mr Lungu in line with his wishes.

ALERT: FBI places a $10,000 bounty on an escaped prisoner who transferred himself $11 million from a victim's stolen Charles Schwab account he accessed on a contraband cellphone. Arthur Cofield was serving an 11-year sentence for conspiracy to commit bank fraud and aggravated identity theft at a Federal Correctional Institute (FCI) in Jesup, Georgia. While in the FCI, Cofield allegedly used a contraband cellphone, gained access to a victim's Charles Schwab investment account, and wired himself $11 million. With the money, Cofield bought a $4 million mansion and 6,106 gold coins that he had transferred to Atlanta via private plane. Cofield escaped the FCI on May 26th, and the FBI warns that he is armed and dangerous.

@lifesfare Yes it makes up for one thing BUT he’s making it seem like it’s the ONLY reason why he should be MP. Which shouldn’t be the case. Every interview he does it’s the only thing he talks about, almost like he’s looking for sympathy votes.

No sir. The Mnangagwa surname is held by many in Zambia. You can't wish them evil because of their name Like all Zambians, he deserves a fair chance to represent his Constituency. We are already going through difficult as Independent MP Candidates in this Zambian Election.
Jacob Ngarivhume@NgarivhumeJ

This is an election in Zambia. The candidate for Mwembezhi West constituency is Bernard Munangagwa! He comes from Mumbwa village, under Chief Munangagwa! If l were Zambian, l would not vote for this one! #YesToCONSTITUTIONALISM! #NoTo2030Nonsense! #NoToCorruption!

@joseph_kalimbwe Why not run as independent thru he campaigns? Why not resign from the party publicly stating full reasons why? There's obviously a selfish intent in the way the current trend of sudden independents have come about.

I've read a lot online that Independent MP Candidates are selfish. Truth is, we've spent months building structures on the ground. We have built political numbers. Then someone who's never been on the ground & can't win a seat is adopted. Must we abondon our works for him ??
