we tested a novel method for the architecture in this game where everything shares the same material, which samples the vertex colors for occlusion, edge clipping, damage and texture variation masks. no uv's (triplanar shader), no texture masks (vertex colors) and 1 draw call.

@TheJackyMartin Working full time outside of game dev means the weekends are the only time I’m able to dedicate full working hours on my own work.. that and whatever energy I have to spare during the week goes into my passion projects. It can feel like a lot sometimes.

Game developers are usually working too much. I have not seen a single lazy game dev -> ever <- during a decade of on and off development. Only game devs, who said they were lazy, while working through the weekends or long hours in their "free-time".

I must have built like 1000 #lowpoly models in that time. some days got none done, other days like 10. and the #pixelart textures. loved every one of them, when I had the power to work. A lot of dead days. Some days not getting out of bed. but that is how we work. #indiedevhour
