It took all day and a few classes of senior students but we finally got the new computers set up in the new Makerspace/Design Studio.

A colleague from my library makerspace days has lent me the 3D scanner to test at school.

Looking at using the open footwear project as an option for product design students next year. Turns out EVA foam is perfect for prototyping shoe designs without the need for industrial skills and solvents.

In this afternoon's "Recycle a Device" club at school we swapped out a broken screen on a student's Chromebook giving it a new life, installed Windows and Ubuntu Linux operating systems, and swapped salvaged RAM from one laptop to another. I learned as much as the students.

Experimenting with melting waste 3D printer filament into sheets and laser cutting. Some student experiments from this morning testing a draw/trace process.

Been doing video editing with my year 10 students so rigged up a green screen to look at chromakey. Worked pretty well.

Looking for ways to introduce students to airbrushing and creating masks on a vinyl cutter. Stripped back an old welding mask from school to test the idea.

Experimenting with making/growing mycelium packaging. Used some spores and substrate from an oyster mushroom kit, 3D printed a mold, and let it grow over a week. Keen to refine and get students to make custom packaging next year.
