@e_fosa08 That’s literally not true especially since none of the previous avatars that we knew of learned techniques from their predecessors. They learned their skills on their own. Roku doesn’t teach Aang any techniques he just gives him historical context about the fire nation/war.

The consequence of Korra breaking the connection to the past Avatars is that future Avatars lost access to centuries of accumulated combat techniques. If the chain had never been broken, every future Avatar after Aang would most likely have been able to lightning redirect almost instinctively once in the Avatar state. Because once an Avatar masters a technique, that knowledge becomes part of the collective experience of the Avatar Spirit. Aang learned lightning redirection directly from Iroh, who created it by studying waterbending principles. The next Avatars won’t have access to 1) Aang’s lightning redirection 2) Kyoshi’s glassbending and raw power 3) Roku’s mastery of firebending And thousands of years of battle experience. Now the cycle basically restarts from Korra onward. Future Avatars can still learn lightning redirection normally though .

It’s a much better narrative choice to age him up. In the books he doesn’t take well to being a vampire cus he’s young. Him being older and more cunning, intelligent, and crafty from years of trauma and a hard hitting journalism career def could make him adjust to the life better

I wish she did this more often. It would be so cool to see her use her ranged energy perception to create elemental clones that can operate in places she isn’t. If she can feel planes moving through the air anywhere in the planet then she could realistically send an avatar there.
