Tal Anderson was interviewed by Vulture and talkrd about her relationship with Taylor Dearden: “She’s very committed to Becca and Mel’s connection, so she really goes out of her way to connect with me. Taylor is also neurodivergent, so she understands me. Sometimes she’ll bring something up or explain something that she suspects I might have a question about even before I have the question. (...) We have talked about it a little but also what it’s like to be a neurodivergent working actor. Taylor made a great point to me when I first met her about the relationship between learning lines and physical blocking when your brain is neurodivergent. Most actors learn their lines, then get the blocking, and they can walk right into the scene and deliver the lines. In our minds, the words might be there, but once you start physically doing the scene, you have to focus on that first, especially with complicated blocking and physical movements. Then your brain can connect that physical movement to the dialogue you memorized so they can sync together, if that makes sense. Obviously, not every neurodivergent person experiences that, but that’s just an example of how neurodivergence presents in a practical situation, at least for Taylor and me.”
