fuck everyone who said that trans people in the US were being alarmist

UK trans activists have been warning us for years. The NHS is moving toward banning all gender-affirming healthcare. Not loudly. Not honestly. Quietly. Through bureaucracy. Now we can see the mechanism. An “evidence review.” That is how they will do it. Neutral language. Clinical framing. The appearance of due process while the conclusion was written before anyone picked up a pen. We already know what this review will find. We know because we have watched this playbook before. You commission a review. You select your parameters. You exclude the international evidence that contradicts your position. You publish. You act surprised at the findings. Then you use those findings to justify the policy you always intended to implement. This is not healthcare. This is not science. This is politics wearing a white coat. Adult transgender people in this country are already being pushed off waiting lists that were never functional to begin with. GP prescribing is being quietly discouraged. Private providers are under escalating pressure. The NHS Gender Identity Clinic system has been systematically dismantled. Every door closes a little more each year. This review is not the beginning. It is the next step in something that has been moving in one direction for a long time. When people who have nothing personally at stake start paying attention it usually means something has gone badly wrong. We need to be ready for what they conclude. Because they will conclude it regardless of the evidence. That is the point of calling it a review rather than calling it what it is. Watch this space. Then do something about it. @wesstreeting @UKLabour @labourpress
