The darker side of zzzverse would be so cool if it's not SO disconnected with everything else. We know human trafficking, human experimentation, and organ harvesting are not unheard of in this world (dare I say actually rampant from what we've seen). Where are the missing people posters, then? Where are the signs saying not to leave you kids alone? So many people died in the fall of the old capital, where are the monuments for the dead (compare to irl, you can find WWII monuments absolutely everywhere in Europe) and why don't we see more of its impact on the people, unless it's directly relevant to a major character/plot? The writers seem to only bring up these dark themes when they want the audience feel bad in the moment, and then they kinda just forget about it. Amongst other things, considering the Phaethons lived through the apocalypse, did contract works on the dark web; it's so jarring to see them starting out their interactions with NEPS, NEDF, and TOPS affiliated agents without a shred of distrust or resentfulness. It's so jarring to see. I'm not saying dark themes and more playful stuff can't co-exist. Cyberpunk is a game that did it pretty well. Gravity's Rainbow is a more high-brow example of an all-inclusive tone done well. They are both absurd in the way how fucked-up, serious stuff, and lighthearted, goofy stuff can happen so close to one another. But they're also completely reasonable, because the two sides of those worlds are interwoven together. The way things are funny, is reflective of the way other things are fucked up. They are cohesive, not divorced. I guess most people don't read this much into the narrative though. Good for them. For me personally, however, I can probably never take the narrative of zzz seriously until they fix the disconnection. Before that, I will just cringe and wince whenever the writers try to be 'dark' and 'serious'.

@liloppla @ZZZAnonymously a monument outside of new eridu in the middle of the desert? I get making a pilgrimage, but hardly a constant reminder of what happened that's at the forefront of people's everyday lives

People here need to understand that most of the complaints aren't about the clothes or the big tits and cleavage, it's more about how Sunbringer was presented and how she's being shown now

ZZZ has stuffs it excels. Cozy feel with a tight-knit cast and a mix between mundane + supernatural. I'm looking forward to what settings we're gonna explore as the game enters its 2nd anniversary. That and you'd have to leave your house to put these stickers on at the event.
