@thevogueprince My favorite part of the prologue is that while it specifies that Waymar's hands shook as he lifted his blade, it was surely from the cold, or the weight of it.

telling my sibling how the thematic core of asoiaf is literally hope against insurmountable odds instead of whatever nonsense the show popularized by explaining what happens in the agot prologue and when i reached "dance with me, then" they started crying lmao

@nekosattva_chan I wonder why the slave queen would be wearing a simple dress with dirty feet.

Grrm will really make sure you never forget someone is fat...like the fat enters the room as its own separate entity before the character does

@bhindinerys @tarpaddy @nikicaga Birthright doesn't exist thats the point. Targ or Blackfyre or Pisswater Prince, fAegon will win the love of the commons and the faith, defeat the Lannister regime, and take the throne. It doesn't matter if he is real or not, because power resides where men believe it resides

@tarpaddy @nikicaga daenerys is already a subversion, you are not doing anything profound by having a man take her place in reclaiming a birthright that's not even his

@vsnowjon @theenbymenace2 Also probably from Frey/Karstark/Manderly men sent by Stannis after the Battle on the Ice to infiltrate Winterfell, with Lightbringer as proof, and perhaps Big Walder Frey agreeing to bend his knee in exchange for the Twins.

@theenbymenace2 I think Ramsay wrote this letter. He probably got information about Mel through torturing Mance

@gaemonspalehair Blackfyre is the only one that makes sense. The golden company fighting for a targ because a dragon is a dragon makes no sense, especially since the Aegon story is suspect. We are told he is a targ, and characters speculate he may be pisswater. The true reveal is he's a blackfyre

@TomTomlewis063 @theweirdinggay She didn't lose the Tyrells, she killed all of them except Olenna (because background characters dont exist in got) and then they instantly lost to the Lannisters because apparently the house with the largest army was never any good at war.

@theweirdinggay I’ve never understood this complaint. It literally results in Tommen’s death, her losing the Tyrell’s, and olenna and helping bring Dany to Westeros. Also the show goes out of its way to say multiple times Cersei controls like 3 kingdoms maximum. Were people not paying attention?

Maul Atreides 🇮🇪 17/50 📚 IWTV - HOTD SPOILERS
The "not great but not bad" seasons of GoT have really ruined this fandom, because lmao just because D&D chose to have Cersei blowing up St. Baelor's Basilica result in basically no repercussions, doesn't mean that this story can just have Rhaenya choke out a septon.

@wei_vyy @urethradestroy @iedtwt Predated by the accumulation of wealth in the form of caloric surplus derived from farming, which in turn led to centralization in order to increase the surplus via greater organization, as well as the establishment of class struggle between the urban elite and the farmers.

@gaemonspalehair He is very Stannis-esque. Living in the perpetual shadow of there insurmountable older brother. Kevan does not appear to take any enjoyment or pleasure from his actions, it is merely war. He sees committing the atrocities Tywin orders as his duty. Like Stannis he does his duty.

“Good men in service to bad causes” perfectly sums Kevan up too. His entire life serving Tywin and turning a blind eye to his atrocities while also being very sympathetic in the epilogue
