after almost a year of procrastination finally went all in on UI/UX design, watched tutorials hit up my two friends that are into the space november was my full starting point and i am glad for the progress i have made so far keep improving daily, happy new week

I've come to a new realisation recently. Most times I measure my growth and progress with that of people way ahead of me. Some of the people I consider to be "doing well" have been in the game for years on end I used to think I'm not doing enough (I still think so) but when I look at how far I've come so early down the line as compared to many that spent at least ½ a decade, I try to be a bit more kind. Y'all didn't tell me you've been doing this for 10 years 😭 and I only started yesterday 😂 You can't beat someone that has compounded growth by working at their pace. The only way you can do it is increasing your rate. And even at that you'll need to maintain that rate long enough to catch up. If I double my output every month for 10 months and you only started at month 10 to double yours in 10 more months I'd be at 1.05M and you'd only be at 1024 (2 ^ 20 vs 2 ^10) The only way to reach my 1.05M is if you quadrupled your rate i.e. 4x growth rate per month. Now ask yourself, can you do that? If not then understand that it'll take you a while to get there as well, no need to try to hack math if you aren't going to work with the formula 🙃 "I built this sh*t, brick by brick" That's why I can't stop moving even for a day. It would be extremely expensive to cover up a gap that big in the grand scheme. I'm competing not against everyone, but rather my urge to relent and take a break. And that is what makes it 10x harder I told you I'm x2-ing and you should 4x your rate. Now picture a world where you don't know how much work I'm putting, you're fighting blindly. You don't know my cards. Now you have to prolly 10x to your rates so you cannot only cover up but also maintain an edge. That is where the problem comes, and that's why you must remember that the race isn't to the best but rather time and chance is the true equaliser. Just show up, you might get lucky one time and it changes everything. At the end of the day, always give your best to every project you work on. Your best may not always be enough for every client, and that’s okay, but never stop striving to give your best. In the long run, that mindset will make you not just a better creative, but a proud and fulfilled one.
