Starting the #PoECap last spring, I wasn't confident that I would see it through to the end. The whole process has been a lesson in humility, self-confidence, and patience(!!). I am even excited to dive into bigger projects in the future armed with the experiences I've gained!

Ravel and his contemporaries (Debussy, Fauré, etc.) always felt to me like they had the most intimate and poetic understanding of nature. Their exploration of harmony and texture was highly influential for composers like Joe Hisaishi, who wrote a lot of scores for Studio Ghibli.

Just attended @lin2500’s presentation! He had great advice about being flexible with the possibility of your research question changing throughout your internship! It made me feel reassured and he gave a great presentation! #PoECap

While listening to @lin2500, I was wondering what the biggest obstacle was that prevents agencies from accurately documenting #restoration projects. Found that the variability in the environment keeps it difficult to keep controls in the environment. #POEcap

Great presentation by @lin2500 !! I learned how riparian forests and salt marshes have changed and will change over the years as we see sea levels rise #poecap

Beautiful poster from @lin2500 #POEcap. Must be so hard to condense all of this research into one poster, wow!

@ClarkeMargaux Thanks! I was measuring the distance between tree rings so that I could observe patterns in their growth each year. Here is a picture I had to omit from my poster, but you can see the dark lines that indicate one year of growth.

@lin2500 is hoping that these conclusions will be used by Stillwaters Environmental Center to improve their methods for future monitoring, but still needs to think about how he will spread the information further! Great work David!

@lin2500 found that the relationship between alder trees and salinity in salt marshes can be used to learn how similar ecosystems will respond to sea level rise. So interesting! #POEcap
