Architectural historian Niall Murphy from @GlasgowHeritage says it’s “total heartbreak” to see a fire destroy the B-listed Victorian building on Union St/Gordon St as at heart of the Glasgow conservation area. Says the facade was akin to Piccadilly Circus and Times Square.

This is the Grade II-listed building destroyed by the Glasgow fire, yesterday. It was designed by Sir John Burnet, who also created part of the British Museum and the Selfridges building on London's Oxford St. His timeless work is now lost to a vape seller. Tragic.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

A return to the National XC championships at Callendar Park, Falkirk with my @MaryhillHarrier club mates. Our new gazebo made its debut, I got lapped by Laura Muir and I didn’t fall over in the greasy mud in the six mile route, so a win all round. 🤣 well done to all the runners.

Male hillwalker rescued earlier after falling through a cornice on Glas Maol in Glenshee, his female companion raised the alarm. Initially believed to be avalanched. Braemar MRT, Tayside MRT and Glenshee Ski centre helped. It’s thought the casualty didn’t suffer serious injury.
