AirAsia X is reportedly close to finalizing an order for 150 Airbus A220 aircraft, a deal that could become the largest ever for the model.
The agreement would be a boost for Airbus’s smallest commercial jet, which competes with Embraer’s regional planes and has faced production delays tied to supply-chain issues.
The A220, which seats about 100 to 160 passengers, would allow AirAsia to expand into smaller markets and airports that are less suited to its current fleet of larger narrow-body jets.
GOL Boeing 737-800 and Azul Embraer E195-E2 were involved in a loss of separation incident at Sao Paulo Congonhas Airport earlier today.
Initial reports say the E195-E2 was only 75 feet (22 meters) vertically separated from the 737-800 as the GOL 737 overflew the Azul E195-E2 on the same runway during go-around.
A photo has been circulating on social media reportedly taken by a passenger aboard the Azul E195-E2 plane showing the GOL 737.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a close call between a Frontier Airlines Airbus A321 and two trucks on the taxiway at Los Angeles International Airport.
"We just had two trucks just cut us off, we had to slam on the brakes not to hit 'em," the pilot is heard in the ATC audio detailing the incident on Wednesday night.
The pilot told air traffic control the trucks crossed in front of the jet as they were taxiing at a slow speed.
"It happened so fast, both of us were just like holy (expletive), and then we just slammed on the brakes. I might have to call the flight attendants to make sure everybody's alright in the back. It was real close. The closest I've ever seen."
In a statement, Frontier Airlines said: "We are aware of the incident. No injuries were reported to passengers or crew. We thank our crew for their vigilance and professionalism."
The incident comes just weeks after the Air Canada CRJ crash shortly after landing at New York City's LaGuardia Airport.

The emergency landing led to the closure of the eastbound lanes of I-78, with traffic diverted at Exit 40 in Berks County. Westbound traffic remained open during the incident. The roadway reopened around 1 p.m. after crews cleared the scene.
Passengers on a commercial flight capture the launch of Artemis II.
Nasa’s moon rocket Artemis II launched on Wednesday evening, carrying astronauts to the moon for the first time in almost 54 years.
The rocket is now orbiting Earth and will continue to do so until Thursday, when the translunar injection burn will take place and send it on the rest of its 240,000-mile journey to the moon. Inside the Orion capsule, the four astronauts onboard immediately began tasks to assess how the spacecraft handled the 17,500mph ascent to orbit.
The second pilot killed in the LaGuardia Airport crash has been pictured for the first time.

Gunther participated in the Jazz Aviation Pathways Program and joined Jazz Aviation "immediately after graduation and began his professional flying career," according to the school. "He was the First Officer on the flight, operating as Air Canada Express, from Montreal to New York."
The first pilot was identified on Monday as Antoine Forest. While his LinkedIn profile showed he was employed as a first officer with Jazz Aviation, sources told local media he was the captain on the flight.
