Today would have been my brother’s 65th birthday but he took his own life in December 2016 - missing lots of life - his grandchild will be born next month - reach out to those you love

Occupational Therapy at SABP@OT_SABP
Great to see the successful roll out of @sabpNHS Occupation Matters Programme by the OTs in Herefordshire. Occupation Matters is a 20 week programme supporting people with mental health difficulties re engage with meaningful occupations & their communities.

OTs help you to help yourself. It's not their job to 'train' you. They teach you how you can own your own body, how to listen to it, how to learn from it, how to work it so that it can work.

I'm not sure why #OccupationalTherapy is trending today but it reminds me that it was wonderful occupational therapists working with physiotherapists and nurses at St Pancras Rehabilitation Hospital who taught me to stand up and walk, all done with care, kindness and great skill

✅ Finding out I passed the Manchester dysphagia course so am officially Dysphagia competent
