You took a video from the Basden Collection and overlaid it with Ibo music misrepresenting its origin. When will this stop? This event took place in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria and has no connection to the Ibo people. The third image even shows a woman fully dressed in Yoruba women’s regalia. This kind of cultural misrepresentation needs to be addressed. Perhaps it’s time for stronger accountability measures, including formal recognition and protection of cultural content. See attached evidence from the Basden Collection.

In 1947 a number of women in Afikpo formed a union called owuẹ... The women who joined the union wore cloths and head-ties in the Yoruba style, which at that time was considered a mark of "civilization." - Phoebe Ottenberg
