I will start the week connecting with @USTDA’s partners in South Africa and exploring how USTDA can advance their #infrastructure priorities in sectors including #CleanEnergy and #DigitalInfrastructure.

Over the past six months, the U.S. government has made great progress following through on its commitments from the #USAfricaLeadersSummit. This week will offer opportunities to highlight what we have done and build upon this progress.

It was a pleasure exchanging ideas with @RMBCIB CEO Emrie Brown on how financial inclusion promotes trade, infrastructure investment, and economic growth in Africa. @USTDA’s program facilitates connectivity and the deployment of #fintech that strengthen financial inclusion.

3.3 billion people live in countries that spend more on debt interest payments than on education or health. This is more than a systemic risk – it’s a systemic failure. Action will not be easy. But it is essential, and urgent.
