You probably don’t care what my two cents are on this topic, but I’ve been hearing a lot of opinions lately about EV cars and I thought I’d give my own perspective. So stop reading now if you don’t care: 1. Yes, we own an EV. 2. We couldn’t afford a new one so we stared looking for used EV’s about 5 years ago. 3. We found one on Kijiji, a 2015 BMW i3 and got it Nov 2018. 4. The original sticker price new was almost $64k. We got ours with only 44,000kms on it for $29k. 5. Overall we’ve calculated we’ve saved maybe $14,000 in gas to date, and yes it feels good that it’s better for the environment. 5. We didn’t want to spend a lot money on a level 2 charger either, so I just kept looking for a used one and two years later, low and behold on Kijiji, I found one for $400 bucks. Half price again! Giddy up. 6. I guess what I hear a lot of people say is “those EV’s are too expensive, I’ll never buy one!” And yeah, they very well can be when new. I get it. But the used EV market is out there folks and you can find a good deal here and there. (I admit it might have been easier when we got ours in 2015 compared to some crazy used car prices today.) Heck, even a used original Nissan Leaf can be found for pretty good prices. 7. My point is this: Look around, you don’t have to buy new. Give the used EV market a chance before dismissing them outright.

Today I learned that #AODA is “due” to be complete in 2025, or in 589 days from now. It launched in 2005. Is your workplace accessible to all? What improvements can you make in the next 589 days? #AccessAbility #Inclusion

Hearing from @ONTrillium about their support for Guelph Wellington’s mental health resiliency. Did you know in their 40 years of giving back, OTF has granted more than $1.6 billion to nonprofits in our province?
