To the one I wronged:
I saw you when I should have looked away.
I’m sorry.
Instead of planting a seed,
I may have uprooted the plant.
The rest of you may return to your regularly scheduled spectacle.
I’ll be here,
perhaps a little quieter now.

nor indulge the gleeful hyenas circling for scraps of shame.
Let them write their rhymes.
I’ve read worse.
It’s worthy of their names.

Once, in a clumsy cup of prose, I spilled what wasn’t mine to spill.
Not out of malice, but misjudgment.
But intention doesn't shield from consequence, and the result was what it was: A quiet name dragged into brighter light than it wished.

If the cloak is a refuge,
what difference does it make
if the image on the other side
was formed in err.
If everything was truely
just a marvelous coincidence
it should not bother

@CBHeresy No, his behavior is what happens when you're raised from birth to believe you're "God's Chosen" and are inherently more moral than everyone else no matter what you do and that everyone else it tainted.

If I’d meant to reveal something,
surely I’d have done it
with fewer birds

I do admire it.
