@AdamCrigler @HeidiBriones Your absurd skepticism that a man would be this shallow is gullibility of epic proportions, but why don’t you ask @thesheltonhill if he’s lying? If he says he is, then you can ask why he’s a loser troll, or you can wonder why you believe everything people say on the internet

@hollowearthterf @drgurner You might be right, and if you are then I’m an exception. I’ve never felt like I always have to wear makeup, dress sexy, etc when at home with my husband. He’s always told me I’m beautiful no matter what. I wouldn’t have married someone who didn’t feel that way.

I think a lot of women suffer mentally when living with a man because the home ceases to be a place where once can escape the performance of femininity. It becomes just another stage just like the outside world. There you are being perceived again, there is no break, no safe haven, nowhere to freely be “gross” and take off the mask. It’s no wonder so many women are metabolically unwell.

@MASH407777 It’s not that we were the first, but more that we were the last generation to experience a general lack of parental involvement & supervision. Younger generations are shocked when I tell them what my childhood was like.

I don’t get into crapping on other generations, but as a boomer, I find it interesting that Gen X’ers seem to think they’re the first to experience stuff like this.

Okay, people of a certain age, give me your Gen X story. Here's mine: My mom was working but she didn't trust my sister or I with a door key, so every afternoon when we returned from school we had to break into our own house by crawling through the window. 1/2

@DainFitzgerald That movie was filmed at the mall where I was actually a mallrat. My sister & I would go there every day to watch them shoot. I wish I’d brought a camera though, I have no pictures 🤦🏼‍♀️

"Mallrats," 1995. If the Boomers took for granted how good the economy was, Gen X took for granted how good social life could be. In retrospect we were entirely too blase about obsessive male interests like comic books and video games alienating one from women and the possibility of romance. All these years out, this character's attitude has resulted in the near total secession of many men from serendipitous overlaps with women. The "end of boredom" has merged with a curated bro pod life. (Not to mention the slow decline of the titular malls.)

@MrsButters She’s a psychopath who’s angry that the victims she bullied are triumphantly winning at life, so she’s trying to rile up all the other superficial idiots who believe their looks make them superior. She’s an emotional & intellectual infant.
