@GiertychRoman "We forced Ukraine to give up its nuclear weapons, cruise missiles, and strategic bombers; we pledged to protect Ukraine from Russian aggression. Yet we left Ukraine vulnerable."
They betrayed those in Afghanistan who trusted them.
They betrayed Ukraine by withdrawing support, even though they had guaranteed the inviolability of its borders.
They betrayed Denmark, their longtime ally, by demanding Greenland from them.
They betrayed Taiwan by calling it “a small and distant island” while in China, increasing the risk of a Chinese attack.
Now they are withdrawing their troops from Romania and Poland, leaving Eastern Europe on its own.
We will manage on our own, because for centuries we have known one thing: if you want to rely on something, rely on yourself. But these betrayals will forever strip the United States of its role as a superpower. What kind of superpower does not keep its word? In our part of the world, a new superpower must rise to take America’s place: Europe.
@GiertychRoman@passerby2014bye Read the quite brief Budapest Memorandum and post here where the US guaranteed the inviolability of Ukraine’s borders. I can wait.
@MykhailoRohoza Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons because it believed the United States would keep its promises, but when the Budapest memorandum was torn up by the United States, the United States' credibility was completely destroyed.
Zelensky waited too long.
Throughout 2025, the President of Ukraine tried to win Trump’s favor — and now he is no longer willing to wait.
Ukraine is building a new axis: Turkey as a mediator, Europe as the main defense partner, and joint weapons production replacing hopes for U.S. military aid.
A new European security architecture is being shaped without U.S. commitments at its core. Kyiv is no longer tying its future to Washington.

P.S. In just over a year, that orange scarecrow has turned America into an unreliable and deceitful ally. Even the birds on the trees know that the U.S. will come out of Trump’s second term weaker and far less respected. Restoring international trust will be nearly impossible.
@vitaly_feygin@MykhailoRohoza return the 1,500 nuclear weapons that were stolen from Ukraine, and the war will have nothing to do with the United States.
Ukraine always expresses its gratitude and always remembers clearly who supported us and how after this war began. But it is equally important, especially for Europe, that all partners remember that Ukraine is defending not only itself in this war. Russia wants our territory so that it can capture the territories of others. If it succeeds with one country – one neighbor – it will do the same with others.
