@ChrisWiegman In a perfect world, one day we will all look back on Javascript like the pet rock: "Well.. that was pointless wasn't it?"

The amount of fuckery I went through to upgrade mautic from v5 to v6 was staggering. Fast forward, the amount of fuckery I went through to upgrade mautic from v6 to v7 was staggering. Open source is often not for the feint of heart.

Somehow I managed to piss off 1M people and bring joy to 1M others with my excitement that cybertrucks doors open in the ice 🤷

My analogy is that it's like having four carpenters do the work for you. Three are excellent and one has brain damage. They are working so fast that you just can't micromanage all of the work so, the one questionable carpenters work is littered throughout alongside the experts. I've built a large system over the last few months and I just don't know how to feel about it. If I had done it, it would be something that I would be very comfortable with and proud of the architecture. Thats not the case currently. Again, I can't move fast enough to micromanage everything. Using coderabbit and codebot, it seems like about 80% of my time is just feeding bugs back into the AI to fix the slop. I just don't know.

I've been using AI for coding for 6 weeks or more. The power is undeniable. But the risks and time sinks are just as undeniable. I'm still not convinced that my project wouldn't be just as far along if I'd written it myself. I think of it as a carpenter who is adept at using hand tools and who has been given access to a power tool shop with every power tool there is. He needs to build a nice little cabinet. Would his first few projects take him longer just because he doesn't know how to use the power tools and has to throw out a bunch of messed up work?

FSD in the @cybertruck handled the Tennessee weather like a champ. Snow, rain, sleet, hail, ice? No problem. FSD and traction control handled everything with grace.

Although Cursor's Bugbot and Coderabbit seem to find a lot of the same issues. Coderabbit seems to find more but, the ones that Bugbot finds are much trickier in nature. Currently using the two together seems like the best approach.

@unclebobmartin It's glorious until it updates a test to pass instead of fixing broken code, then it makes me sad.

i am incredibly suspicious of men who are over 40 & never married i trust someone who tried and it didn’t work marriage that ends is still evidence of effort never lived with anyone? red flag never had a long-term relationship past 6 months? red flag there’s usually a reason these men are single, and it’s not because they were “focused on work.” if they didn’t prioritize love then they’re unlikely to start now tell me why i’m wrong
