Yes, I am this old. I used this in my first few years of teaching, along with a chalk board and chalk. Now I use a digital projector, whiteboard, and white board markers.

(through T4s) If the data is similar to two parent families without then this is definitely a thing. But most moms would hypothesize this anyways…

He didn’t do anything though. Teachers have already been showing the Olympics and other major sporting events and using them as teaching and community building opportunities. But Ford makes a tweet taking credit for it and everyone thanks him. 🙄

@ESL_fairy True story - experienced ONT teacher and support staff after being violently assaulted repeatedly by program students ~ asked for help from the board ~ were told to wear Kevlar vests. That was it; then a student repeatedly assaulted then concussed P.

Instead of being given the funding necessary to hire more educational assistants and child and youth workers to proactively meet student needs and prevent meltdowns, school boards are given money to spend on Kevlar for educators.
Make it make sense.

@ESL_fairy For real? Only UFA in TDSB (as far as I know) has students addressing teachers by first name. My rule for students was when you graduate from post secondary, you are free to address me by my first name.

1) Students already address teachers by their title and last name (eg. Ms. Shibata).
2) This is a distraction from government underfunding of direct special education and mental health supports for students.

@ESL_fairy @lippyent In my very first year of teaching, 30 years ago, my amazing mentor advised me to treat the office staff and caretakers with the utmost respect because they were the people who really ran the school and got the things done. She was absolutely correct, and I followed her advice. 👏🏽

@lippyent I was raised to treat the custodian and secretary with a higher level of reverence and respect than any principal in a school. My dad taught me who was REALLY in charge. ;)

You know what would raise #EQAO test scores in #OntEd schools? 1) Vulnerable students with complex needs getting the proactive 1:1 EA support they need. 2) Classrooms not being evacuated daily. 3) Not making kids wait 2-4 years for special needs assessments.
