@seanhhm The thing I like the most about HuGo is they aren’t afraid to admit their mistakes and fix them. Barron trade (mistake) move him for Carrier. Reinbacher drafted (huge mistake) fix it with Dobson. Dach trade (big mistake) TBD fix at 2C.

For over a decade there’s been a contingent of Habs fans who have begged this org to do a proper rebuild. They used to claim Montreal couldn’t handle a tear it down, miss the playoffs on purpose, and bring it back rebuild. Gorton/Hughes delivered. And now we’re soaring upward.

Not sure if this is true or not but I heard from a pretty reliable source that in 2019 John Tortorella took his family on a 6 day cruise (Royal Caribbean, all inclusive eastern Caribbean swing with an optional turks & Caicos excursion) and he healthy scratched his wife from a snorkeling trip on day 4 of the cruise. She was able to move freely throughout the boat but was not welcomed on the snorkeling trip in Amber Cove, Dominican Republic. When asked for comment, Coach Tortorella said “it’s a part of the process”

Unfortunately there was some tampering going on in the MCHL already this offseason. A player without representation got some bad advice and it may cost him. Exit interviews don’t happen until August and there can be no contract negotiations until then

@MarcPDumont They play a lot on the weekends and I had to see what he is all about. Was hoping to see the same thing the scouting staff and HuGu saw. Unfortunately I didn’t but that doesn’t mean there’s not something there. I’m craving a player who can get me out of my seat in this yrs draft

@MarcPDumont For sure he improved post injury, can’t argue with that. But the bar was VERY low after stumbling outta the gates. Gap control was atrocious for someone who is considered a shutdown D. Mind you people say he has unlocked offensive potential but I didnt see it. Good 1st pass tho.

@MarcPDumont Not to mention I watched every one of his world junior games live in his draft year. When the pick was announced at the draft (Carey forgetting his name was funny) I fell on the floor and screamed in agony. Again, I’m not a professional scout… so I hope he proves me wrong.

@MarcPDumont I watched 15-20 of them, maybe I caught him on 15-20 bad days. Very underwhelming for a T5 pick. Sure hope I’m wrong but he’s just another D to add to the stable of D prospects that blends in. Hopefully Hughes trades 1 or 2 for a forward with offensive upside at the draft 🤞

The Habs are now 4 points out of 4th last. The Coyotes play the Blackhawks tomorrow. A Yotes win and a Habs loss to the Predators puts us in 6th last. The race is right. Every loss is important, no room for moral victories.
