@RoyceKoop Perhaps, but he’s dragging down the party, and given the competition, it’s worth considering a plan B.

Rare that I disagree with Lydia.
Pierre Poilievre elected 144 MPs in the last election. Since then, three have left, and a vanishingly small number are willing to give critical interviews to the media. Even those interviews are always anonymous.
Switching parties is obviously not good. But I am asking Conservatives to keep this in perspective.
Here are the facts:
- More than 8 million Canadians voted for Pierre in the last election. He boosted the party's popular vote by almost 8 percent.
- 87.4% of members recently supported him as leader. That's higher than Harper received ... right before he won and became prime minister.
- He still has very strong support from his caucus. Even if there are some disagreements, there is no realistic situation where half of them would vote to remove him as required by the Reform Act.
You can focus on today’s political drama if you want, but in the bigger picture, none of this is ultimately going to matter.
Pierre will lead the Conservative Party of Canada into the next election, and rightly so.

What do you say Canadian women? Either wear hijab in solidarity with your sisters or be guilty of Islamophobia:
Dr. Maalouf @realMaalouf
Austrian president says all women should wear a hijab to show solidarity with Muslims: “With increasing Islamophobia, we may have to ask ALL women to wear a headscarf to show solidarity with those who do so for religious reasons.” This is mental illness.

@Martyupnorth_2 I’ve been married for 33 years, yet my husband and I have never felt compelled to create a joint social media account. I guess we just won’t last.

This won't last. They're both narcissists.

@cbcwatcher That didn’t age well. He brought back Miller. Not sure why he doesn’t want fresh faces around the table.

Lydia Miljan on who might replace Guilbeault "He could also maybe shuffle someone around, maybe like someone like Melanie Joly, who also is a really strong campaigner in Quebec."
"So my money right now is on somebody being elevated from the back bench."
"So I think that in the long run he's better off getting rid of more actually these Trudeau era cabinet appointees like."
"So right now the Liberals don't need to be courting the left."
"But when we're struggling with food insecurity, housing, people certainly start becoming much more fiscally conservative, if nothing else." @lmiljan

. @lmiljan making the right points here:
1. What inducements did the government offer d'Entremont to cross? We still don't know.
2. Floor-crossing drama simply serves to distract attention from the budget, particularly the eye-popping deficit.

@alanfryermedia Rather amusing, last time I checked CBC said there was a 41% chance of a Liberal govt, and only 27% PC. 2 hours later we have a PC majority.
English

CBC calls the Conservative victory "shocking" a) because Liberals of course can't (or shouldn't) lose and b) because the pollsters they so lazily rely on got it so incredibly wrong.

It would be tremendous if Canadian Tire could (re?)democratize the HBC Stripes — which have always (or at least since I've been paying into wedding registries) cost A FORTUNE.

Interesting reading on supply. In short, while we don't need a budget every year government spending needs to be voted on in parliament.
