The real Canon tool might offer more control and better quality than live view upscaled to 1080p But this is for people who don't care about the extra control and just want any image out of it.

Or you can switch the camera to video mode, type in a comically long command and use your Canon DSLR as a webcam

Well. Nice to see Magic Lantern works. But they still haven't finished developing modules for the 6D Mark II. Only debug things are available. Nothing around video or sound level bars yet. But it was released in june 2025. So it can wait.

The selection of lenses is pretty limited ngl. A few primes, zooms with shorter reach or the 300mm+ lenses. But at least the 24-105 f/4 and 24-70 f/2.8 are available. It would be boring without them.

My Sony camera needs to be fixed. So I used an old Canon PowerShot sx120 as my digital camera. I was also testing my Pentacon Six with a roll of Kentmere 200. It didn't like the cold. But works perfectly after warming up again.
