@adam_bobowski Assuming you have some sort of tilemap then @OskSta's dual grid is the superior way to generate meshes with nice round corners. x.com/OskSta/status/… If you're working in Unity then try to get really familiar with the Mesh class; there's a lot to learn.

More talk prep. Gonna have another go at persuading people to cut their tiles along the dual grid instead of the main grid. I genuinely don't understand if this is rare because people don't know about it or if there is some drawback I'm not seeing.

Whooo. Did not expect that. Maybe I just need to dive deeper into that. Do you maybe have anything to recommend here I should look at? It seems like my efforts are not really up to what I'd like to achieve and maybe I'm just missing some learning resources not to reinvent wheel again

@adam_bobowski All the outline highlights are flat meshes, generated more or less the same way as the landscape itself. A simple transparent shader is used to draw the meshes on top of everything.

@loboflex How do you achieve this outline effect? Is this some kind of line-renderer + textures + glow shader or something else? I wanted to achieve something similar but nothing really good enough to use as a "selection outline"
