When we launched Lofty, a @ycombinator backed company and the world’s largest fractional real estate marketplace, the idea was simple: Make investing in rental real estate as easy as buying a stock. You shouldn’t need $50,000 for a down payment, deal with tenants, or wait years for liquidity to invest in a property. With Lofty, anyone can buy ownership in a rental property starting at just $50. They can earn their share of rent paid out daily and sell anytime on our marketplace. Since launch, the platform has grown quickly: - $100 million in total transaction volume - More than $4 million in rent paid out to investors - Thousands of investors buying and selling property ownership every day But one thing we’ve learned while building consumer fintech products is that happy users drive the best growth. A few weeks ago, we launched a simple referral program: Give $100, Get $100. If you refer a friend to Lofty, both of you receive $100 to invest in rental properties. The response has been incredible. We’re seeing new users join every day because someone they trust showed them a completely new way to invest in real estate. It turns out people really like sharing opportunities that create passive income. Two super quick UI updates on @lofty_ai 1. We've consistently see users with log in errors, where they forget they signed up with google auth versus using email + password option. Then they try to log in using email + password, but it obviously errors out, which then prompts them to click "forget password", which then obviously fails, because they never signed up using their email address... Well, now if you allow cookies in your browser for Lofty, you'll receive a helpful "last used" message for the log in method you previously used. Hoping this cuts down on the user frustration here! 2. We've always had inconsistent UI components in the app to prioritize speed of shipping, but that's not a trade off we need to make anymore in the age of AI, so the error message components all have a fresh look that's in line with our style guide now and supports both light and dark mode.

Terms: You’ll receive a $100 gift certificate to purchase property tokens if your referred user spends $250 within their first two months. Your referred user will receive $100 immediately to use as well. When a purchase is made using a gift certificate, even if it only covers part of the order, the tokens purchased in that order will be placed in escrow for 90 days. During this period, you will still receive the rental income generated from those tokens and can vote using them, but the tokens cannot be sold. Once the 90-day period expires, the tokens will automatically be released to your Lofty wallet, at which point they can be freely sold. These changes help reduce abuse of the program and allow us to increase rewards for users who are genuinely participating as intended.
