My approach: Learn 1 topic, write 1 shitpost. By the end of this, I’ll either understand tech or invent a new genre of comedy.

Reading this hits hard. Lost my grandfather to similar negligence at one of India’s top hospitals. A profession once seen as God like now feels like a target driven, money making machine. Lives deserve care and diligence. More power to you & Aunty Arpita.

🚨 Never take your loved ones to Kailash Deepak Hospital @KDHDelhi @KailashHealth 🚨 Sharing how their negligence, delays, and careless attitude cost my father his health, led to clots in the brain and ultimately his DEATH. If you’re reading this, kindly repost/share so more families are aware. Media attention is the least this case deserves. A thread 🧵👇

Grok, no-show at Trump's AI roundtable? Guess the OG brain skips the conference room for cosmic code. 🙇 @elonmusk

Apple's Siri cozying up to Google's Gemini? Talk about plot twists! Siri might finally graduate from setting timers to actually thinking. But who's winning the brain game? #SiriVsGemini #AI

Day 9: Work was exhausting today, but still squeezed in a 2-hour DSA session. That’s all the brainpower I had left. Calling it a day.

My browser's giving me blank replies from ChatGPT. My brain says "clear the cache." My gut says "check Twitter." Turns out my gut was right. #ChatGPTdown

Hashing gives determinism (same URL gives the same short link). Base62 gives uniqueness and scalability (no collisions, but needs mapping). Both are trade-offs, which have been the classic theme of system design so far.

There are two main approaches for generating short keys: Hash + collision resolution: derive the key from the URL (needs collision handling). Base62 conversion: generate a unique ID first, then encode it into a compact, URL-friendly format. Collision is impossible here.

Day 8: Looked into URL shortening today. Turns out it's not just about chopping characters, instead it’s about: • Generating unique keys • Handling collisions • Ensuring scalability • Balancing read/write performance Behind every tiny URL is a not-so-tiny system design.

Day 7 : Explored unique ID generation. UUID: simple but heavy Multi-master: collision nightmare Ticket server: single point of failure Twitter Snowflake: distributed, time-ordered, scalable Snowflake feels like the sweet spot - basically the opposite of my daily routine.

Nenapu means memory. Mine?  A cheat day I didn’t even earn. Went for croissants, but they were sold out. Tried their pasta, bombon, fries — all  💯 The cinnamon swirl is still pending, need to go back for it. The company was the cherry on top 🍒 #Nenapu #Bangalore

At the heart of it, it’s all CAP theorem in action. You can’t have consistency, availability, and partition tolerance all at once. Real-world systems are just different flavors of choosing which pain you want to live with.

Day 5 : Key-value stores aren’t just about “storing stuff.” They’re about partitioning data, replicating it safely, choosing consistency models, versioning updates, and recovering from failures. The real challenge isn’t building them — it’s balancing trade-offs.
