I'm Logan Forsythe. I grew up on Medicaid and food stamps. Stripped tobacco at the age of 7. Lived in the back of a Dodge Caravan in HS. Married a teacher. Served my country. Now, I’m running for Senate because KY families deserve better than cuts to Medicaid, SNAP & vets’ services. If you're pissed off like me, join our campaign today. bit.ly/loganforsythe

Brittany and I joined up with the Peaceful Bluegrass Resistance at The Kentucky Shop’s “Ice Out Kentucky” event this morning. There was a big crowd who were kind enough to get to know me and where I stand on issues while we were holding signs and voicing our opinions about the wrongdoings of the current administration and federal law enforcement. I’m always so impressed and grateful to anyone who stands against wrongful actions, especially when those standing are outnumbered and lack the resources of who they are against. There’s a bravery when individuals step up to use their voice with only the hope others that are likeminded will hear and join them. I’m equally as impressed and grateful when local businesses risks their livelihood and everything they’ve built to stand against any group, organization, or government acting in immoral ways. We must celebrate and support all who stand up for what is right and lift up all who have been beaten down because if these individuals and businesses who are brave enough to act in these times are to fail, we won’t have anyone left to speak against all that is wrong.

There’s still time! At Kroger and other local grocery stores, shop for what you need and share what you can with domestic violence survivors. Volunteers will have lists of what supplies are needed most. Let’s support our neighbors. ZeroV.org #shopandshare

It’s important to show up for local businesses who show up for our communities each day. When weather cause shutdowns or slow days our small businesses face huge losses. We’re fortunate to be able to support them and I hope all who can will support their favorite local businesses as much as possible.

Dr. King was more than a man of quotes. His actions, passion, and focus were on being better and making his country better. While being oppressed, beaten, and discriminated against daily, he never backed down. Not only did he fight to better the circumstances of African Americans, he advocated for all groups and individuals who were unfairly treated and historically underrepresented. Dr. King knew America could never be at its best until all were treated as equals and with the dignity that comes with being a person. There may never be another quite as large as Dr. King but we can all strive to follow in his footsteps. Especially in current times with so much on the line, we must do more than share quotes. We have to share his actions and stand for those who are being stood upon, speak for those who can no longer use their voices, and fight for all who are being unjustly fought against.

When the government claims its officers have absolute immunity while its citizens can be arrested and killed for protesting, I’m happy to be one of the “enemies from within” the president talks about. lex18.com/us-news/do-ice…

The holidays are joyous and happy for many but this time of year is also the most stressful and gut wrenching for so many of our family, friends, and neighbors. We never know what others are struggling with and that’s why I’ve always tried to do for anyone when an opportunity arises and I’m able to help. This has always been my default because so many did for my family when we were struggling. I grew up being helped and I now try to help others. Reflecting on the holidays while preparing for Christmas for our children, nieces, and nephews, I realize how we always had something on Christmas morning even when things were the hardest for my mother. I can’t begin to understand where her work ethic came from and how many sacrifices she made every day for her children. I’ve been able to overcome a lot of hardships in life due to what my mother and others did for me. I’ve received awards and accolades but I’ve yet to receive anything more meaningful than when my mother says she’s proud of me. Coming from someone like her who has only ever done for others despite the overwhelming odds against her, there’s no greater compliment. Mom, thank you for everything. I love you.

Thankfully, Mitch isn’t going to be our senator much longer but these new, unnecessary restrictions are going to not only stall the growth of a young and thriving industry in our commonwealth, but they’re likely to bring it all crashing down. Our economy isn’t strong enough to be playing with whole industries like this and we should be supporting our small and local business owners instead of punishing them for no reason. I not only support less restrictions on the hemp industry, I support full legalization of marijuana. Numerous states have done this ahead of Kentucky and those states regularly raise $500M+ in additional tax revenue. This revenue is money we could use to make our schools better, feed our hungry neighbors, care for our elderly populations, and invest in so many other ways where we’ve historically lacked the funds to improve our communities’ and the lives of those who make up these communities. Also, less restrictions and the legalization of recreational marijuana equates to less big government meddling in our lives - something both sides desperately want at this time. With Mitch stepping down we have an opportunity to send someone to represent Kentucky who is forward thinking, not bound by party expectations over the needs of the people, and is willing to do what is right and necessary no matter what. That’s what I’ll do every day I’m your next senator. wkyt.com/2025/11/14/ken…

I was surprised the other day to receive a package in the mail from our Governor naming me a Kentucky Colonel. My sister had nominated me prior to my candidacy. I did not know she did this and it was unexpected to say the least. I’ve been thinking of this honor the past few days and I’m beyond grateful and humbled by this. Kentucky must be one of the few places where a kid who started his life in poverty in a rural community can be given enough opportunities to eventually be worthy of this honor. I fight for our safety net programs and stand for those who can’t stand for themselves because I see the potential of these investments. When we feed a hungry kid we’re not just suppressing their hunger momentarily - we’re giving an opportunity for that kid to focus on more than their hunger and use their energy to pursue their dreams. When we give access to healthcare to our elderly we aren’t just filling prescriptions - we’re giving a family more time with loved ones to make more memories. Our investments in each other can lead to wonderful things and I’m going to ensure we keep making these investments and keep making Kentucky better.

I’m thankful to all who have served our country this Veterans Day. I will always fight for veterans’ benefits and expanding care for those who serve and their families while they are serving and for the entirety of their lives when they return home. You represent the best of us and deserve the best from us in return.

40 days for nothing. The shutdown was sold as necessary to extend ACA benefits and keep millions of Americans’ health insurance costs as low as possible. Despite not securing any of their demands, Democratic senators have agreed to end the shutdown on terms already guaranteed to federal workers under existing laws and policies. This is what’s wrong with the existing Democratic Party. When they do take a stand and try to fight for the people they represent, they back down before getting any results. We have to stop sending the same people to Washington and expecting anything to change. nytimes.com/2025/11/10/us/…

Over 200,000 households in Kentucky, more than half of which have children living there, are set to lose SNAP funding in a couple of days. These funds aren’t being paid not because there’s no money, they aren’t being paid because there’s no one decent enough running our government to ensure children and our vulnerable neighbors don’t go hungry. Politics aside, all citizens and residents of the richest country on earth should be ashamed of our government using people’s lives as political pawns. It’s time to elect people to these offices that won’t tolerate this type of cruelty.

Franklin County’s fundraiser on Monday evening was an excellent opportunity to hear from our Lt. Governor about the state of Kentucky’s government and the ongoing projects being undertaken across the commonwealth. When the federal government can’t bring itself to do the basics such as stay open and work for the betterment of the people, it’s refreshing to have such strong and reasonable leadership at the state level. The federal government needs more Kentuckians who want to show up each day and work for the people. If we send our best next year, we’ll get a better government.

As Democrats in DC are fighting to keep hundreds of thousands of Kentuckians, and millions of Americans insured, two of Kentucky’s elected officials are focused on high school football and building another prison. It’s a difficult truth to face but it’s a truth nonetheless: these people do not care about Kentucky or any of its people. Our state government can only do so much. Thankfully we have a governor who acts proactively and found additional funding to keep our seniors fed. Even so, Kentucky does not have the money to supplement a lapse in SNAP funds. If SNAP funding lapses, over half a million Kentuckians will not have food. Most, if not all, of our grocery stores will lose sales and this could mean many Kentuckians will lose their jobs. People’s lives and livelihoods are not bargaining chips. It’s time to send new people to DC to actually represent Kentucky and ensure these types of games are never played again. Out with the old, in with the new. kentucky.com/opinion/linda-…

It was great to be with Jesse Brewer today at Harrison Memorial Hospital to talk about the bill that was recently passed, and the serious harm it will cause to rural hospitals across Kentucky. Even facilities not currently at risk of closure will feel the impact. We can’t afford policies that threaten access to care for our rural communities. Kentuckians deserve better.

What a great day it was at the Greenup County Democrats’ Annual Pig Roast! The food was fantastic, the cupcakes were a work of art, and the company was even better. Thank you to the Greenup County Democrats for hosting such a wonderful event — and for the surprise birthday song! It was also a treat to tour the historic McConnell House, a beautiful 200-year-old home that holds so much Kentucky history. Always an honor meeting so many incredible Kentuckians.
