@Gadsden_Fawkes Reportedly is based on testimony under oath, charges, convictions and police reports stating firearms were at the event. As far as people being armed, here is a photo of someone armed with what could easily be used as a weapon.

Trump reportedly knew that the January 6th crowd "was armed and tried overpowering a secret service agent to go to the Capitol." He reportedly didn't care. The below video is of a party at Mar-a-Lago where everyone appears to be getting screened for weapons before they can enter. Is there a difference here? Why would someone be OK with people having weapons at the US Capitol as these same people are trying to stop the certification of the election, but not for party goers to have weapons at a home?
