Most of you have no idea what you are talking about . The driver was resistant to commands even after explaining to him it was for officer safety which they can do . PA v Mimms . He had a gun as per his own admission. Could be lying about its location or more. Absolutely . He refused to get out of the car . A conditional refusal is still a refusal . Asking for a supervisor is not a magical stop button . Now they have an armed subject who is refusing a lawful order to exit the car , which may possibly make the officers safer by distancing him from that gun. He refused until she pulled the gun and covered the threat with it . He was arrested and the charges weee dropped MONTHS later. It’s common for the DA to say if you stay out of trouble for a few months we will drop the charges . The local govt settled the lawsuit as they almost always do — it’s go away money . And the police brass who usually throw the cop under the bus actually backed the officers . The female cop not only wasn’t disciplined but was later promoted to detective . Why? She used proper tactics . Go watch a traffic car stop video where it went wrong and the driver shoots a cop or at the cops . Now tell us what the cop could have done realistically to have changed that with the info and resources they actually had at the time . Most of you will find , they would do exactly what she did .
Rudy Ornelas was pulled over in Sacramento in 2018 for tinted windows. His Smith & Wesson was registered and locked in his trunk. He told the officers. He stayed calm. He knew his rights. He asked for a supervisor. In return, a female officer drew her gun and pointed it at his head. He was cited, his legal firearm was temporarily seized, and he was forced to complete a safety class and wait two months to get it back.
Every charge was dropped. He didn’t file a lawsuit—he won in criminal court when the charges were thrown out. The officer? No public discipline. Reports say she was later promoted to detective, but SPD never confirmed it because they never had to. The real loss isn’t just what happened to Rudy. It’s a system that rewards escalation instead of punishing it. Compliance doesn’t protect us. Accountability will.

@TheCleanCarClub If only people knew that once you let that glove box drop, the cylinder damper that connects to the damper ball falls off and you have to accurately insert it back into the ball and if you’re not lucky enough, the ball falls off from the adapter into not reacheable places.
