You destabilized the trajectory of 2 young promising coaches doing well in your system, because of ego and stupidity. This is what you should never do as a business leader... understanding the right timing and context to promote and give opportunities to younger team members is very critical. It has to be done thoughtfully, with a clear plan for transition and support. Otherwise, you risk damaging confidence, derailing careers, and ultimately hurting the business itself.
