And doing the fake kidnapping, your kid scenario will lead to them, hating their parents and not trusting people

Yes because you what’s even more traumatizing? Is if this was a real scenario. Most stubborn young adults (myself included when I was that age) most of us don’t actually listen to our parents until we experience the mistake for ourselves. At least this way, the mistake was experienced without real life consequences.

Betraying your kid and traumatizing them can lead to them despising/hating the parents and not wanting to have anything to do with them. it could also lead to them not wanting to talk to anybody and not trusting anyone

@lonewolf925 @Brandonb0499 @iMessaage_ Not if her parents are consistent and equal with their consequences and punishments. The kids who resent their parents are often kids who find out their parents are hypocrites or liars or treat their sibling differently. Trust requires consistency.

@lonewolf925 @iMessaage_ Sure, have the conversation first, but if she doesn't listen, then some real life consequences will teach her better. Trauma is a good teacher if done right. Don't hit your kid over nothing. But something as serious as this before she's an adult, is an important lesson.
