Nothing says “homeowner problems” like federally protected woodpeckers slowly eating your treehouse. This guy discovered they had drilled over 7 inches into one of the main support poles, and since he can’t exactly take them out, so he had to get creative. He ended up using a heavy-duty two-part epoxy made for repairing utility poles and even added a custom steel bracket to tie everything together. In the end, he actually made the treehouse stronger than it was before. Still, you can tell he’s both impressed and mildly annoyed that this is now part of his maintenance routine. I actually deal with woodpeckers making holes in some of the trees on my own property, so I know how frustrating (and weirdly charming) they can be.
