The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors should not have to beg for what has already been agreed upon. The Federal Government signed a deal on the Professional Allowance Table, and now it wants to abandon it. This is not governance; it is betrayal. Our resident doctors are the last line of defence in hospitals that are already collapsing. They work gruelling hours, in impossible conditions, for pay that insults their sacrifice. And now, the government seeks to take away the little that was promised? The Tinubu administration must demonstrate commitment to the issues: 19 months of unpaid Professional Allowance arrears; promotion arrears gathering dust; a Medical Residency Training Fund stuck in bureaucratic limbo; and a government that treats its doctors as an afterthought and remains unconcerned as they flee the country in droves. Every doctor Nigeria loses to the UK, Canada, or Saudi Arabia is a failure of leadership, not a failure of patriotism. You cannot ask people to serve a nation that refuses to honour its own word. I stand with NARD. Pay what you owe. Honour what you signed. Or explain to 200 million Nigerians why their hospitals will go dark on Tuesday. -AA

Is it not incredible that Nigeria’s spokesperson is the chief defender of Nafiu Gombe?
Bayo Onanuga, OON, CON@aonanuga1956

@BolajiADC Hi Bolaji, the man your bosses stole the ADC from is ahead of you. Nafiu Gombe has already gone global to report the hijacking of his party by those he calls "external political actors" and "power mongers". Read his letter to the US Embassy in Nigeria.

Hi Bayo @aonanuga1956, Did you help Nafiu draft the letter? —considering that he somehow finally managed to spell “Chiarman” correctly.

Again, you can draw a parallel between what impresses an average Nigerian and the type of society and leaders will have. Not innovative thinking, empathic leadership or people focused policies but dirty, disgusting anti-progress politicking.

After BAT comes Wike in this present political space. While BAT is a silent mover, Wike is a loud shaker. Different styles, same result. Like or hate Wike, he has proven to be very good politically. He fought against a former vice president and two presidential candidates. He won them all. Infact he chased one and his team out of the PDP like people suffering from leprosy. He fought against powerful governors yet he defeated them. Tell me how many in this present democracy unlike BAT who was sworn in on the back of the military rule can have a state as big as rivers in his pocket. Even when things were rough with fubara he won. It takes wisdom, intelligence , tact and courage. It reminds me of how BAT was treated when the Buhari COS was alive. How he came back silently into the frey. Wike is very calculative, very intelligent and as much as people think he speaks every time, I actually think he does not. Only that whatever he says and however he analyses issues sticks like glue for months. He baits his opponents and understands when to keep quiet, he validates his victories with his mouth and thrives where there is chaos. The only thing that keeps him below BAT is Network which is a very tall order. Asiwaju has a massive network that wike can never get in 20 years. Tell me how a politician will have his members in two different parties PUBLICLY, Playing a game everyone can see but cannot stop. He delivered rivers and has delivered the FCT. This makes me wonder what those really close to BAT especially for more than a decade learnt from him. There is a lot to learn from BAT and Wike politically. Wike is him!

People shouting under this tweet and saying all sorts If you have money come let me send you to Oron to build a resort by the Ocean - If you don't spend millions in settlement every three months come back and tell me - If you don't get robbed or attacked once, come back and tell me - If you complete that project in 10 years, I will take my words back You people don't know why oil companies sold their land assets and went into the ocean You people think this is a fairy tale

If that clown in Burkina is allowed to rule for 20 years, he'll keep blaming the West for their underdevelopment, while his family amasses a lot of wealth and the lives of his people keep deteriorating.

Abia has larger population than Bayelsa. Bayelsa receives a higher allocation than. Divide Bayelsa allocation by the number of LGAs or population, you realize that Bayelsans should be richer than every other Nigerian and should have more projects. The reverse is the case.
Thompson Smoothie 💚🫂 𝕏@MicroSmoothie

Abia State is half the size of Bayelsa State without swamps and difficult terrains. Let’s say Abia State is like the size of Southern Ijaw and Ekeremor LGAs—2 LGAs in Bayelsa equals the size of the entire Abia State. So, any small development is visible and can be lauded.

An entire generation of men was repeatedly told "gender is a social construct" only for them to have the rug pulled out from under them because of their gender which the law has evidently decided is very much not a social construct. And then you ask what's radicalizing them.

This is just cope, our leaders have always been some of the most educated Nigerians around.
Yusuf Dauran@Usouph

Exactly what Gov @daudalawal_ was saying in his speech in London yesterday. Basically, the educated individuals pulled back and allowed illiterates to become our policy makers by not joining politics. Is what brought us into this mess that cant be fixed overnight.
