@FabrizioRomano @TheAthleticFC Well why did he agree to a long term contract on a laid out set of terms , he could have negotiated set increases or it terminating on certain conditions . Day 1 take the money , day 2 cry the money is t enough. I hope Chelsea play hard ball.

@_Unknown_D_ I think you're wrong. Men 65 & women 60. Life expectancies much shorter, late 60s men early 70s women. The retirement v LE diff is now ~17 years, a big diff from the inception in 40s

If I recall correctly when the state pension was introduced, the state pension age 70, and life expectancy was 53 years. Now the state pension age is 67 and life expectancy is 83 years. The system was originally designed to give the few who made it to pension age, dignity and comfort in their final few years. It was not designed to sustain them for decades. A radical rethink is needed.

@WG_RumblePants I think I’m right in saying that they were the players’ county helmets but with the fabric taken off? As in the 90s the ECB weren’t providing England helmets as ‘part of the service’.

@Cantona_Collars Notice how Robbie got straight up and , in a rare bit of fairness to McMahon, no rolling around . Went down , 10 seconds later trying to stand. A example for modern day seems a physio is on with any bang.

@socialistp40357 @RachelReevesMP MPs have to pay their own heating too. When working away from home, they don't. When I work away from home and need to stay over, my employer pays for my hotel not me.

Dear @RachelReevesMP. Can you explain to me why MP's on £98'599 per year from April, are getting a £3'300 cost of living payment too? Most "working people" are lucky if they earn £30k, and they have to pay the cost of heating their homes and pay their own rent and mortgage too.

@Rich_sutton_ @fcmad1960 @DanNeidle @Heccles94 A significant proportion of staff are foreign born and trained. They come to work for the NHS on more money than most Asian countries . Recruitment/retention of younger Britains has been an issue for a long time .

I think we should change the tax brackets. Up to 15k tax free Basic rate 20% up to 60k 60k - 80k - 30% 80k - 150k 40% 150k - 500k - 50% 500k - 2,000,000 55% Then 60% on the rest over 2,000,000 What do you think?

@Rich_sutton_ @fcmad1960 @DanNeidle @Heccles94 But then you have to up wages... the NHS has been subsidised by immigration as not enough consider the package (with the preferential pensions & benefits but lower salaries) worthwhile . Only one example of course .

@Malachians Left back more likely. Shaw won't last 2 games a week. Outside of that we are very limited , Dorgu isn't currently a left back , Leon too young , Amass maybe or it's Dalot / Mas anyway.

@nqatpod @ronaldobrown_98 You are correct ; his wages and injury record , sparodic at best for 4 seasons , mean he's not going anywhere unless Utd heavily subsidise a transfer . Might aswell keep him , will be useful in Europe if ever fit.

No Question About That@nqatpod·
@ronaldobrown_98 Yes he’s played 29% of potential minutes this season United are still committed to £22m unamortised transfer fees and another £26m in wages assuming CL bonuses The club would happily take a fee if anybody would pay it - which given the above is unlikely

Mason Mount has 2 Premier League assists for Man United in 3 seasons. Most over protected, overrated, nothing players we’ve ever had. Undoubtedly one of our worst ever signings & some people think that’s an outlandish take.

Grandpa's awake and spouting nonsense again. @danneidle do you feel like slaying the "national insurance pays for your future pension" myth yet again, this time for everyone's favourite and never knowingly accurate "financial journalist" with a high profile BBC gig?
Paul Lewis@paullewismoney

That’s nonsense because many of the people who get what he calls welfare do in fact Work. And much of this total is paid to pensioners in return for their national insurance and they would certainly not consider it welfare. But it’s fake statistics like these that can influence peoples beliefs.

@d_andradesport Maguires was correct. Amads, was probably the more physical than the two given. Maybe refs think he falls over too easily, which at times has been true

No complaints about Maguire's personally. It's a penalty. But to say Truffert, who had two hands on Amad, wasn't committing a holding offence is quite worrying isn't it.

@Malachians We paid too much for a player who struggled with the intensity at times . Buying a 29 year old from Spain to play in a high intensity role not great. Yr 2 not as fit as should have been. Yr 1 &4 excellent - 3 ruined by RA insistence on 3v2 in midfield . Not awful just ill thought

Will never understand how he’s used as an example of bad business. He’s been a brilliant signing, never let Utd down off the pitch and never behaved like he was above Utd at their lowest moment unlike some youngsters who have achieved nothing in the game

@DanNeidle It's not a 75k pay off. 40k is PILON . £35k is the optional, easy life part. Suspect they wouldn't have had to pay it, but also will have reduced time as pm would probably have had a go, these things take an extraordinary amount of time.
