I am honoured to be appointed as the UK Special Envoy for LGBT+ Rights.   Everyone, everywhere should be free to live with dignity and respect. I will work alongside partners to defend the rights of LGBT+ and help ensure they can live without fear of violence and persecution.

Horrified by the appalling attack in Berlin. My thoughts are with all those affected, and the entire LGBT+ community. The values of openness, tolerance and freedom are what unite us. I have spoken to @AussenMinDE to convey the UK's solidarity: we stand with Germany.

The UK stands in solidarity with Germany and everyone affected by the appalling incident in Berlin. Pride is a celebration of human rights, freedom and dignity. Violence and hatred have no place in our societies, and must never be allowed to undermine these shared values.

Mauritania is one of the UK’s closest partners in the Sahel. Together @CheikhGhazouani and I discussed how we’re working together to boost economic growth, tackle climate change, and strengthen regional security. 🇬🇧 🇲🇷

From coastal erosion to social protection, UK partnerships in Mauritania are making a real difference. Great to visit Nouakchott’s fish market and see the impact of @BritishIntInv’s work and support for the Tekavoul programme.

At the UK-Mauritania special operations workshop, as part of @NATO’s cooperation package, I saw firsthand how joint training is forging resilience and stability across the region. Collaboration like this is shaping a safer future, together.
