You know when you do the thing where you break up w/ somebody w/ whom you had a lot in common, resulting in you kind of avoiding those things for a couple years, then one day you rediscover those things, & find you can actually enjoy them again, that they haven't actually been poisoned by the sad end of a relationship once upon a time?

Be realistic about what's going to happen if & when you engage w/ certain family members or people from your past. Be clear about what's going to get scraped up & what you'll need to manage during & after.
Have a safety & recovery plan sketched out for the emotional hangover.

CPTSD survivors don't stay in painful or unfulfilling relationships because we "like" them. We stay because predictable pain is preferable to our nervous system than unpredictable (whatever).
We've been conditioned to prioritize risk management over fulfillment.

It's a bummer to feel rejected & abandoned by people who said they would be there for you-- but that sh*t happens. It does not mean you have to give up on yourself.
Acknowledge your feelings about it-- and then do what you have to do to prove them wrong, one baby step at a time.

Extremely surreal to give notice to vacate a place you've lived for 12 years.
Extremely stressful to have 4 weeks to plan/coordinate a move while already v busy.
Extremely exciting to be moving into the dream house you just bought with the love of your life.
