It is a privilege to have a library named after me in my hometown of @LongBeachCity. The Billie Jean King Main Library opened to the public 7 years ago, on September 21, 2019. It was a day etched forever in my memory. Libraries are a place where everyone belongs. Happy #NationalLibraryWeek!

🪴The Princess Royal has officially opened The Queen Elizabeth II Garden in The Regent’s Park, London. The space commemorates the life and service of Queen Elizabeth II - and today would have been Her late Majesty’s 100th birthday. During the visit, The Princess met gardeners and designers involved with the project, before unveiling a plaque to mark the garden’s official opening.

@benonwine What concerns me is that this could be male or female. The walk is more masculine and the phone is unusually prominent. No disrespect to women intended.

We’re delighted to share that we have merged with Rising Voices Wessex to form the Lewis-Manning Rising Voices Choir 🌻 This exciting new step brings together clinical excellence in palliative care with the powerful therapeutic and community benefits of music and singing. Clare Gallie, CEO of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care said: “We are delighted to welcome Rising Voices Wessex into the Lewis-Manning family. Music brings people together, lifts spirits, and supports emotional wellbeing. Across Dorset there are so many brilliant charities supporting our communities. When we unite with a shared purpose, we can reach more people, deliver services more effectively, and make better use of the resources entrusted to us by our supporters.” Noeline Young, Chair of Rising Voices Choir, shared: “Merging with Lewis-Manning Hospice Care allows the choir to grow and reach more people who may benefit from the support and sense of community it provides.” The choir is a unique, welcoming space for people affected by cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, but everyone is welcome to join 💛 Rehearsals are held every Tuesday 6.45pm – 9.00pm at Longfleet House, Longfleet Road, Poole, BH15 2JD We hope to see you singing with us soon! 🎶

This coming week, we will remember the life of Queen Elizabeth II, 100 years on from her birth. Her Majesty lived through an extraordinary period in world history. As Monarch, she comforted the nation in difficult times, and was often at the centre of celebrations and moments of national pride. We look back at some of the historic events which marked her reign, and made her a constant in many of our lives.
