Argh. I bought a relay module due to it being suitable for 3v3 control from a Raspberry Pi, and having a clear schematic showing its use with different microcontrollers and Pi. Now it's here I read the wiring diagram and... AI slop, useless, now the device is untrustworthy :(

@Polymate3D based on my past interactions. I think I'd be giving them tips not the other way around 🤣

@gunfuzled Section 57 of the Firearms Act 1968 is not legislative creep. It's actually okay for you to admit you made a bad call here by using this example. I would respect you more if you did, and honestly...not a lot if you keep doubling down.

@lost_in_tech Again, it's not about you or your country. It's about the dangers of legislative creep when it comes to the freedoms of a countries citizens. If you want to have that conversation, I'm all ears, otherwise, make your own thread about whatever it is you want to talk about.

@gunfuzled You are evidently ingesting too much propaganda. I can't really help you with that. But I can ask you leave my country out of it in future unless you want to actually become informed about the actual facts, not the ones you've been fed.

@lost_in_tech Brother, this isn't about you. This post IS about my country and if you failed to see that, maybe you take things a bit too personally. However, in America, I can say what I want and will continue to do so. Over here we don't fear being arrested for twitter posts.

The funny thing is the third test where I passed, I made actual mistakes. Probably not enough to fail but it was the worst of the three by a long way. We desperately need computerised tests. The tech is there. What are we waiting for.

Second time I was failed for not spending time using the left mirror while merging right. The worst part is how long you have to wait for these fucking tests, only to be failed arbitrarily for no explicable reason. Still pissed off about it 26y later 🫠

I thought I'd blocked all the militant cycling video troublemakers but they seem to pop up still somehow. Must suck to be a bus driver in London these days....as if it didn't already suck to be a bus driver in London.

@lost_in_tech I will wait on the fence until there is a printer where the front panel won't obstruct the view of the first layers... Honestly, I don't understand how all those new multi-nozzle printers have this flaw. Although SoVol did great here for having more than 4 nozzle so its a big win

I’ve been using a Pixel 9 Pro XL and … it’s REALLY nice. I like Android Auto better than Apple Car Play. Hmm.. What are some Android must-have apps?

@ZombieHedgehog_ This is, ostensibly, why I don't tend to mention bambu at all. Ever. It's not really something I want to "go into" and the odd snide comment doesn't provide the context.

A few issues I had with LTT’s INDX video: First, it was a strange showcase because they never actually really used the printer. They also did not clearly disclose whether Prusa supplied the machine or sponsored the video in any way. My assumption is that it was a free product with no paid review, but that relationship should have been stated clearly. Second, they repeatedly criticized Bambu without clearly explaining the broader reasons behind the criticism, aside from briefly mentioning the recent takedown request. Their argument was not just a joke about printer poop. They essentially framed Bambu printers as machines whose main contribution to multicolor printing is generating piles of purge waste. Waste is absolutely a valid criticism of single-nozzle multicolor systems, but reducing Bambu printers to that ignores why so many people use and enjoy them. They are accessible, generally reliable, and especially popular with the entry-level audience that watches LTT. I criticize companies and products all the time, but I try to provide enough context for my audience to understand the issue, even when they disagree with me. Throwing another company under the bus in front of a massive audience with very little context does viewers a disservice. It also feels strange considering Linus’s kids appear to actively use Bambu printers, and by the looks of it, use them quite a lot. There was an opportunity to acknowledge both sides. Bambu printers can create significant purge waste, but they have also helped make reliable multicolor printing accessible to a much larger audience. Third, the video framed INDX as though it were the only meaningful solution to the waste and limitations of single-nozzle multicolor printing. They briefly showed the Flashforge and Snapmaker toolchangers, so they did acknowledge that other systems exist, but a fair overview should have also mentioned the Bambu H2C and some of the upcoming nozzle-changing printers. You do not need to give every competing company free advertising, but ignoring obvious alternatives gives viewers an incomplete picture of the market and makes INDX seem more unique than it actually is. My biggest concern whenever @linusgsebastian makes a 3D printing-focused video is that millions of people may be seeing this technology for the first time, and possibly the last time if the subject is covered poorly. I understand that the LTT team is not nearly as involved in 3D printing as many dedicated creators, but there are so many small details they could learn that would help them make substantially better educational content. That being said, this was still by far their best 3D printing video. They highlighted a lot of creators and projects our community knows, including HueForge, which @pezliz and I helped introduce to the world. My major suggestion would be to involve someone who is much more in tune to modern 3D printing before any more focused content is made.
