@jeremyjohnson1 For whatever reason, I think Rhudy’s early struggles have caused him to be slow to bring him into highly leveraged situations. Again, think he had more confidence in Krenzel due to past performance &the specific matchup. Problem that he failed to see though was Krenzel was off.

@lostvol Yeah he mentioned that in the presser, that he liked the matchup. In theory I do too. But if you see what everyone saw, that he didn’t have it, you have to throw matchups and analytics out the window. He didn’t even have Rhudy and Frederick ready. Egregious

2 things can be true at the same time. I’ve been very supportive of Elander and will continue to be. But I will call him out if he has a bad day and today was awful. He has to learn from it. To question if he’s the right guy, That’s the gang of low IQ NegaVols talking. #GBO

@CraigGrafx @ryanschumpert00 @ChristinaTippen Just said in another post, think the staff trusted the analytics that told them Krenzel was the matchup there. Staff have to use some common sense and eyeball test to know when to throw the analytics out the window and go make a change.

@ryanschumpert00 @ChristinaTippen C’mon! Pitchers have off days and he was missing his spots by feet, not inches. You can’t keep a pitcher in because he’s been “your guy”. Even MLB All-Stars get the early hook sometimes. This is ridiculous.

Josh Elander on leaving Brayden Krenzel in to face Bryce Callaway in the seventh inning: "Krenzel's been our guy all year. He's been really good for us. He's pitched in the league and has a ton of confidence with him. Regardless of the conditions, I know he was spraying it a little bit at times, I thought he was still really competing. @jeremyjohnson1 Totally agree, but again he trusted Krentzel too right the ship more than his other pitchers. If I have a concern with E and this staff, it is their love of analytics. I think today they liked the Krenzel matchup, better than the other pitchers. Eye-ball test has to matter.

@lostvol He’s gotta have better instincts and feel for the game. No matter how much trust you have in him, what’s the eye test today? He was spraying it all over the place and didn’t have it. He has to be more decisive and more aware of the situation

Now, just 2 years later, they are having one of the worst seasons in program history. Still a bunch of matches to go, but things need to turn around quick…

@jeremyjohnson1 Home plate umpire certainly helped on those called looking. Didn’t hit, but umpire was all over the place when the Vols were at the plate.

Might need to shake that lineup again. The bats didn’t show up today. They didn’t want to be out there in the rain. Looked at strike 3. Just a complete no show today. Only bright spots were Blanco and Manny. Series win but that game was abysmal! #Vols
