Matthew McConaughey just trademarked "Alright, alright, alright." Not for nostalgia. To stop AI from using it without permission. Eight federal trademark registrations covering his voice, catchphrases, and visual identifiers. It is an unconventional strategy that signals something the whole industry feels: existing IP law was not built for the AI era. Sharon Urias breaks down this strategy: gmlaw.com/news/celebriti… #LotiAI #NIL #LikenessRights #AIPolicy

Val Kilmer never made it to the set, but he made it into the film. With family cooperation, SAG compliance, and documented intent from the actor himself, the filmmakers behind "As Deep as the Grave" used generative AI to bring him into the finished film. Consent, compensation, and authorization was the model. @Variety's full story: variety.com/2026/film/news… #LotiAI #LikenessRights #NIL #GenerativeAI

The generative AI licensing problem has outlasted nearly every proposed solution. Puck's Ian Krietzberg examines why, and where Loti Interchange fits in. As Luke explains, AI companies are "completely disabused of the notion that they're going to go to L.A. and sign people up one by one." Permissions-based licensing at platform scale is the answer, with rights holders setting their own terms and rules. Taylor Swift filed three trademark applications last week covering her speaking voice and a stage image, specifically to address AI threats to her identity. As Loti AI CEO Luke Arrigoni explains: "By locking down these trademarks now, she's ensuring that if a brand wants to use a 'Swift-like' AI voice in 2027, they'll have to go through her authorized channels or face federal trademark infringement. She's effectively putting a price on her digital self, and that's where the industry is heading." Full piece: latimes.com/entertainment-… #LotiAI #TaylorSwift #NIL #LikenessRights #AIPolicy

Today we are launching Interchange, infrastructure for consent, control, and compensation in generative AI. Generative AI has scaled without a way to license real people, voices, and creative works at the moment of creation. Interchange fixes that. Rights are cleared at generation. Attribution is built in. Compensation flows back to rights holders automatically. Consented, compensated AI generation, by default. The EU banned AI nudifiers outright while giving platforms more time to build compliance infrastructure. The US is letting courts figure it out case by case. One regulatory model says "here are the rules, now build the systems." The other says "maybe someone will sue and we'll see what happens." Platforms building consent infrastructure now aren't doing it for EU compliance. They're building toward where global regulation is already headed. The administration's position on training AI on copyrighted material: let the courts figure it out. At the same time, it is pushing Congress to preempt state-level AI protections, shifting responsibility to the federal level. Will the new national policy on artificial intelligence be stronger, or simply more uniform than the dozens of state-level NIL and deepfake laws already on the books? #Media has entered an AI-first era. Creation is easier, expectations are higher, and trust has never been more fragile.   Audiences now expect hyper-personalised, always-on experiences, while trust, IP protection, and authenticity have become board-level priorities. At the same time, monetisation is shifting from volume to value.   That’s why Tata Communications will be at the ET Media & Entertainment Summit, exploring how #AI, #cloud and #DigitalInfrastructure are reshaping content creation and monetisation responsibly and at scale.   In a fireside chat, Anand Pimprikar of #TataCommunications, will be in conversation with Hirak Chhatbar of, @lotiapp, on what it takes to move fast, personalise intelligently, and protect authenticity in an AI-first world.   The discussion also sets the stage for the launch of our Live Wire white paper, offering fresh perspectives on how media leaders can scale intelligently, safeguard trust, and monetise with intent.   Know more: okt.to/akzqV0   @ETBrandEquity   #MediaFabric #DigitialFabric
