I'm completely new to reading web novels, but after watching the donghua, I can already tell this story is something special, a true Masterpiece. @lotmuniverse LotM as your first WN, imo, is a bad idea. Best to start with something else that's shorter and beginner friendly. But, if LotM is what you chose, then you are in for an unforgettable experience. Enjoy.

@lotmuniverse DO NOT READ THE WIKI, DO NOT WATCH ONLINE CONTENT, FOCUS ON THE BOOK. Basically, avoid anything about LOTM because there’s a lot of spoilers that are you might miss out on. I went in fully blind so it was extremely enjoyable. If you don’t understand something, keep reading.
