MCCL 2’s are playing a historic friendly, being that it is Nowton Ladies first ever hard ball game. The sun is shining, there are 22 smiling ladies eager for a game; this is what it’s all about!
To suggest that MCCL contributed to their own downfall would be charitable. Still there are 96 runs on the board so they need to bowl well and see where they end up.
MCCL come up 51 runs short concluding on 140 all out. At 90-1 they were in pole position but with Helen 40 swiftly followed by Maddy 41 departing the innings stalled somewhat. On we go to next sunday and the Vitality T20 National Plate Final
A long hot muggy day in the field for MCCL but they stick to their task well on a flat one. 3 wickets for Helen, 2 for Niamh and for Calley on debut. Thriplow post 191-6
A good effort by the ladies from the field but ultimately they lost by 8 wickets. 2 wickets for Niamh with a catch from Lydia. Ultimately, as they say, cricket was the winner. Now we revert to the WEAPL game
First of a double header between MCCL & Thriplow. First up the T20 team who scored 89-5. Maddie M top scored with 15 and then helped by Niamh 14 and Megan A 12.
Ultimately it was inevitable as OBCCL run out winners by 3 wickets. A poor batting performance but a fight back with the ball by MCCL. 3 for Helen, 2 for Jazz and one each for Kayls & Megan H. Now got next weeks semi final…..
Not MCCL’s finest hour, and probably not much more than an hour apart from the rain, as they succumb for 70 after being 29-0. Jazz Westley’s 31 the only real highlight worth mentioning
