No one has the right to use violence as a means of control, correction, or discipline. Normalizing such behavior only perpetuates harm and injustice. It’s critical to reject any cultural or societal beliefs that excuse GBV & instead reinforce its criminal nature. #EndGBV #16days

GBV is a crime punishable by law and not an acceptable way to “discipline” someone. Acts of GBV, whether physical, emotional, or psychological, are violations of human rights and are punishable by law in most countries.

Addressing it means understanding its far-reaching effects, providing resources for economic recovery, and ensuring survivors can rebuild their lives without fear or dependence.

GBV is preventable through education and accountability and not solely the responsibility of survivors to address. Preventing GBV requires a collective effort to educate communities about respect, consent, and healthy relationships.

Survivors often face barriers to employment, financial independence, & stability due to trauma, stigmatization, or loss of opportunities.
